Drifter in Claude and ChatGPT

The Drifter connector brings your weekly AI visibility reports into Claude and ChatGPT. Ask how AI engines describe your destination and the assistant answers from your own Drifter reports, with a link back to Drifter for the detail.

What you need

  • A Drifter account in a destination workspace with at least one published weekly report. If you don't have one, ask your team's Drifter admin for an invite.
  • Claude, or ChatGPT with apps and connectors turned on.

Connect it

The connector's server address is:

https://drifter.travel/api/mcp

In Claude

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it Drifter, and paste the server address above.
  3. Choose Connect. Drifter opens and asks you to sign in.
  4. Check the workspace named on the page, then choose Allow.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.

In ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Apps. Under Advanced settings, turn on developer mode.
  2. Choose Create, name it Drifter, paste the server address above, and set authentication to OAuth.
  3. Sign in to Drifter when it opens.
  4. Check the workspace named on the page, then choose Allow.

On a ChatGPT workspace plan, an admin may need to allow custom apps first.

What to ask

  • “How does AI describe our destination this week?”
  • “What did ChatGPT say when asked about family beaches here?”
  • “Which websites does AI cite most for our destination?”
  • “What should we work on next to show up more in AI answers?”

Numbers come from your latest published weekly report, and the assistant says which week.

What the connector can read

  • AI visibility overview: Answer Share, Authority Share, each pillar and how AI engines describe your destination, from the latest weekly report.
  • What AI says: The word-for-word answers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity gave to a travel question, whether each named your destination, and its sources.
  • What AI cites: The websites, threads, videos and posts AI engines cite most for your destination.
  • Actions: The open Actions from your latest report, highest priority first.
  • Partner cards: The partner cards your team has sent to local hotels, attractions and restaurants.
  • List destinations: The destinations your workspace tracks.

The connector is read-only. It reads the one workspace you approved and cannot change, publish or send anything. Asking about a destination outside that workspace returns nothing.

Switch workspaces or disconnect

  • To connect a different workspace, switch to it in Drifter, then remove the connector from your assistant and connect it again.
  • To disconnect, remove the connector in your assistant's settings. Access also ends as soon as you leave the workspace.

If something goes wrong

  • “Your account is not part of a Drifter workspace yet.” Ask your team's Drifter admin for an invite, then connect again.
  • “This request has expired or is incomplete.” Start the connection again from your assistant.
  • No published weekly report yet. The connector answers once your first report is ready in Drifter.
